Written in honor of my wife's (a.k.a. the mother of my children) upcoming birthday that just happens to be on Mother's Day this year!:

From the day you were born,

You were made for reform.

You made your own mom take on a new role celebrated!

Born into earth on Mother’s May Day,

Your daddy’s wife first became a mother on the same day

You mustered the faith to debut as a new soul designated!

From your first day

To your current birthday,

Your birth plays a significant role.

It’s not just for the wordplay

That these words came…

It’s your worthy frame that extends an expensive toll.

So as I spend time to capture this,

With the very mind you’ve raptured since

The first time your stature was sensed in my presence –

Though I neither knew you as a lover

Nor confused you as a mother…

I’ve grown used to you and no other defined by such essence.

Our time is precious.

We can’t rewind the seconds –

We can only refine what beckons us forward.

Our future together’s a timeless present

That sutures our finest Quintessence

Into one mind that’s vested in Quarters.

Though you once owned one fourth of my heart,

You’ve earned your share of its proportional parts.

Forged in my art, you’re infused in all I’ve ever adored to do.

And while engineering’s something we know well,

The sum of 2 begets 1 with no veil…

Such math won’t get us a Nobel, but it did get us a ward or two.

Formed in you,

Our two awards grew

As you reformed who I knew you to be.

What you’ve become as a mother

Cannot be summed by another…

For you, my stunning lover, have truly become a Queen.
