Sore to New Heights Soaring to new heights Takes glorious might that might Leave you sore at night.

Think about your last big accomplishment. Maybe you finally learned a skill that you were struggling to master. Perhaps you completed a big assignment or project that required your all. Whatever the task, you finished it successfully and now you can breathe again....or can you??

You've now entered into new territory with this latest accomplishment! You've awakened senses and muscles which you didn't know you had before. Mentally, emotionally, even physically, you've pushed yourself to new heights to achieve success. And success feels really good! But now there is this unspoken expectation to achieve the same, if not more -- all the time.

Some people fear success more than they fear failure. The reason? They know they will have to perform at a higher level on a more consistent basis to maintain success once they achieve it. "Can I succeed consistently? If I can't, was the original success even real or was it a one-hit wonder?" This can be immense pressure that hinders you from stepping up to next level opportunities.

Don't put so much pressure on yourself! Success does not mean absence of failure in the future. Success means that if you fail, you have a foundation to keep trying until you succeed again. Success means that when you fail, you already have a history which shows you can come out on top again. Success does not mean that you will never have any missteps, setbacks or off-days. Learn from mistakes and build yourself back up!

With your last big accomplishment, you broke through a barrier and achieved something you've never achieved before. Let that fuel you! Don't let it scare you or hinder you. You've tapped into another part of yourself that can accomplish things at a higher level. Don't become fearful of new heights now! It's time to soar.

Question: How do you cope with the demands and pressures of success?
