Honor the Process

Remember when you were a kid and you couldn't wait to grow up? The grown-up life seemed so exciting and carefree! No one telling you what to do, what to eat, what to wear, AND you could stay up as late as you wanted! Right now, my daughter would love to speed up the growth process simply because she is the shortest in the family. There are so many things out of her reach and she wants to grow taller instantly!

How often do we (as adults) desire to speed up the process to get what we want? Perhaps we seek to bypass certain steps to get to the end result. There are times when shortcuts are necessary. Bureaucratic delays, redundant procedures or paperwork for the sake of paperwork are time-wasters that should be circumvented for more streamlined solutions. However, there are some things in life we just can't get around. We must go through the process to accomplish certain goals.

Any process requires work and time. Those two things can be the hardest to give when you desperately want to reach the finish line. There are simply no shortcuts to going back to school, creating a business plan, writing a resume or exercising to get to the next level. In business, you can't bypass steps if you want to achieve top quality or build customer relationships. The time you give to the process produces patience. The work you put into the process produces strength. When you reach your goal, the patience and strength you've gained along the way will help sustain you. Taking shortcuts will only make your success short-lived. Don't shortcut the process. #MorningMirrorTalk

Question: Is there a process you've been avoiding that is hindering your success?
